Firebug Alternatives for Internet Explorer

Firefox as we already know is a great browser, it’s lightweight, free and without a doubt the browser of choice for many web developers, including my self. I could go on forever discussing why Firefox blows any other browser away when it comes to web development, but one feature really stands out: Firebug. This web development tool is by far the greatest discovery in my history of web design. If you haven’t tried Firebug, you’re missing out and probably wasting a lot of time.

Now, IMO Internet Explorer as a browser for web development sucks. However the time does come when you need to make sure your site loads properly because IE is most likely the browser a user will be using to view your site. I’ve recently noticed that the MS team is making an attempt to engage the development community. On a MSDN blog post they’ve listed a collection of development tools and plugins for developers. So if you are tied up in the ongoing battle with IE to get your site rendering properly, you can experience a small taste of the Firebug features within an IE browser. Unfortunately none of which come close the real thing.
